Shramik Abhivrudhi Sangh /Jana Jagaran (SAS/JJ) continues its toil among the least and last section of the society. Keeping in mind the UAPs, SAS is striving towards holistic development of the poor in the rural section of Belagavi district and Chandgad Taluka. The August month, celebrating the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, SAS distributed Tailoring Tool Kits to 789 Functional Vocational trainees across 66 centers from 66 villages. This event involved 6 training sessions across Belagavi district with awareness of law and justice for adolescent girls. These trainees are trained in tailoring and fashion design for 10 months along with life coping skills. This training gives them economic freedom to make both ends meet and live a free life in a male-dominated society. The FVT Guides gathered in the Xavier Farm Machhe from 4th to 6th of August, for a training on the Personality Development program. The SAS staff efficiently organized the program along with Yoga practice, leadership topics and motivational talks on self-respect, self-confidence and the importance of good values in life. The accompaniment SHG movement continues to produce miracles in the village for poor women.
As we celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, SHG households are freed from the clutches of money lenders and dream dreams for the betterment of their children. SAS conscientize them about their right and constitutional rights for women and of the lower section of the society. Many SHG women are motivated in Income Generating Activities (IGA) and are becoming self-reliant economically. The constant accompaniment of SAS staff in the villages makes these miracles possible. Xavier Farm Machhe marching towards becoming an organic farm with self-sufficiency. The farm grows cash crops, flower plants, fruit trees and a variety of spices. The spices include Pepper, Turmeric, Ginger, Cinnamon, Cloves, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Curry Patta and Bay leaves. The hard work of L/Fr. Vella produced exotic Dragon fruits for the first time on the Macche Farm. You are most welcome to the farm to relax and to feel one with Mother Nature.
